Social Media Management for Home Remodelers

You are not posting on your social media to drive leads and traffic to your site. You are trying to build rapport with your community through social media posting. Your social media platforms are designed to give your community a view and understanding of your business.  While we are trying to generate sales eventually, that is not what your social media is for.  Social media is for getting your community to know, like, and trust you. This will take time. Even if you hire someone to manage your social media, it will still take time to see a consistent return. Trust me, it is worth the time and effort.

With Social Media Management

The key behind posting on social media for your business is simple. All you have to do is let your audience know that you are a legitimate business. How can you do that? Post what is happening in your business. For example, you can post pictures of the jobs that you do. You can post interviews with your clients. You can post about a new logo. You can post a picture of a new truck that you just purchased for your business. You can post a picture of one of your team members that has a birthday.  You can’t go wrong with posting on your social media as long as you are posting regularly.

You want to post some personal things about yourself and your team, but your social media should always remain focused on your business. Posting about your child’s graduation, how your favorite football team did this past Saturday, and pictures of your dog are not focused on your business.

Now, how could you turn those into posts relating to your business? Post pictures of your family coming to see you at your office. Run a contest that asks your followers to guess the price of one of your jobs.  The closest selection wins a 50 dollar gift card.  You can see how these posts can be used to focus on your business but still show that you are a business that is worthy of being known, liked, and trusted.

What business-related content should you post on your social media? Ask yourself, what pictures show that I am a legitimate business in my service area? Post pictures of people from your community. Suppose you have a restaurant in your town that a lot of people go to. Go have breakfast with a group of people and post about how you enjoyed your time. Post Google reviews when someone leaves one for you. Share a new tool that you just bought for your business. The goal is to grow your rapport with your community. Anything that shows your community that you are ready to serve them is a good post.

Another great idea is posting How Tos and tips. As a service-based business owner, you should understand that your audience might be doing the services you provide on their own, just like with my agency and my business. I understand that a home remodeler does not have to hire me to do what I do. The same goes for any service-based business.

There is always going to be a portion of people that do the service on their own. You should use that to help and assist those who wish to do so. This will show them that you are open to help and ready to serve them at any moment’s notice.  With that being said, post about the best way to remove the tile backsplash in a kitchen. Make a post about your favorite chisel that you use every day and that you would recommend. Post about the different types of combinations of colors.

Make posts that will genuinely help the people you want to serve. You will find that this is a great way to build rapport with your community. It will show them that you don’t just want to sell them something. It will show them that you genuinely want to help them achieve the design they want.

The bottom line is, as long as you’re posting something on your business profiles, you can’t go wrong. If you look at your competitors that are thriving and beating you on Google, they most likely have a thriving Facebook page with followers and consistent posting. This is something that a lot of businesses overlook. It shouldn’t be. It is free; it doesn’t take too much time. It can be tedious work, but the results are worth it.
